I want to jump on a Lifeboat but I don't see my due date being offered. Can I still join?
Of course! Before we open registration for lifeboats, we have a waiting list. Just drop us a note, and we'll make sure you're the first to know when we open registration for your due date! (Unless you're due sooner than September 2018, in which case: sorry. But we can talk about 1:1 support if you would like; just get in touch!)
What if I need more help than you can offer online?
TBH, this is pretty likely; we can't do it all for you. But what we CAN do is: help you find a care provider that is a good fit for you (or help make sure your current care provider is a good fit for you), give you emotional support and informational guidance within our program, build community with you, and help you find the resources you need. If you are local to Cape Cod or the South Shore, we can come to you for extra lactation support or doula work as an add-on to the program. If you are not local, we can help connect you to resources near you that can help you with what you need. Our goal is to support you in having the best possible outcome, both physically and emotionally.
What about my partner or support person?
Partners and other support people are a huge, important part of this experience, and we want to welcome them! So please, forward or share the weekly emails with your partner, welcome them to join the calls with you, and welcome them into this process. We are here for them, too! And... it's nice to keep a little something for yourself, too, so the facebook group is for that.
Why does the program go so far past my due date?
We work with new parents and their babies day in and day out. We've been in this business long enough to know that many, many parents are floored by life with a brand-new baby and a brand-new post-baby body. Working with parents who feel overwhelmed and isolated is one of the reasons we created this program; we want you to be prepared for birth and parenting, but it's vital to also have good support and a loving community once baby is here.
What if my birth preferences are different from the other parents in the lifeboat group?
Of course they're different! That's the great thing about small-group coaching with us: we know that each parent's story is unique and beautiful, and we want to meet you where you are on your path. Our whole vibe is about being nonjudgmental and recognizing that you are a grown woman who gets to make her own decisions, and our job is to give you the information you need to empower yourself and then cheer you on as you go. We know that folks with all different philosophies can get along and help each other out, because we see it every day in our free Sisterhood group.
How is this different from the free Sisterhood group?
Way different: the sisterhood group is really all about peer support. Lindsay and Liz post in there and occasionally chime in on questions, but it's really more about the community. And it's a much bigger group! In the lifeboat program, you get your very own due-date-focused group that is capped at 15 people, so it's a small group. On top of that, you can count on us spending more time there and actually answering more questions or sharing resources. Not to mention: the facebook group is just one part of this program! You are also getting live Zoom calls with us, weekly emails targeted to what you've got going on, an entire birth prep class, a prenatal breastfeeding class, birth celebrations, loving community, and loving postpartum support. You won't find all that anywhere else.
Who is this Lifeboat program for?
It's for pregnant folks who want to have a positive experience of pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and feeding their baby. It's for women who want to celebrate their pregnancy journey but may not feel like it's socially acceptable yet. It's for pregnant people who would like to get access to information without having to wade through the google overwhelm. It's for anyone who is looking forward to having a baby but may be nervous about how it will all happen, for anyone looking to build a supportive community around themselves. It's for you.
Will this make birth and parenting super easy?
LOL no. These things are never easy, because they're worth doing really well. They're not hard because you're doing them wrong, they're just hard. And they're worth it. We aren't here to 'save' you from anything, just to make sure you have the information you need to make informed decisions, the support you need to feel centered, and the community you need to feel held.
How do I sign up?
